Matale Spice GardensDambulla Cave Temples
After breakfast, you will leave the hotel in Sigiriya to travel to Kandy.
On the way, we will stop at the Dambulla Cave Temple, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There are many beautiful statues and murals of Buddha to see in this ancient temple which is believed to have been built by King Valagambahu in the 1st Century BC.
We will also stop at the Spice Gardens in Matale where a variety of spices like cinnamon, pepper and nutmeg are grown. A batik factory tour will be arranged next.
After you reach Kandy, check-in at the hotel and spend some time resting. This majestic ancient city was the last capital of ancient Sri Lankan kings. The Temple of the Tooth Relic is one of the most prominent sites in the city. There are many stores selling beautiful gemstones in Kandy, which you can visit during the day.
